🇬🇷 Drama in Greece as it heads for another election, despite just holding one on Sunday. The ruling centre-right New Democracy party were the big winners, receiving more than 40% of the vote, which translates into 146 seats, just five short of the 151 needed for a majority in the 300-seat parliament. Left-wing SYRIZ A had a dismal night and received just 20% of the vote, which is well below expectations and an 11 point drop from their 2019 result. In third place was the centre-left PASOK who won 11.5% and 41 seats, nearly double the number of seats they won in 2019. Prime Minister Mitsotakis has overseen a robust economic recovery but has been embroiled in a phone hacking scandal and the fallout from a deadly train crash in February.
