Boosting our immune system with elderberry syrup: Ingredients: 1 cup dried elderberries 4 cups water cinnamon sticks Ginger Lemon 1tbs turmeric 1 cup honey Instructions: In a large pot, combine the elderberries, water, cinnamon sticks, ginger and lemon. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 45 minutes, or until the liquid has reduced by half. Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Using a fine-mesh strainer, strain the mixture, pressing down on the berries to extract as much liquid as possible, stir in the honey until it is completely dissolved. Store the elderberry syrup in a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid in the refrigerator. It should keep for several weeks.
