DIY Desk Upcycle Tutorial ⬇️ Upcycling an old piece of furniture is really such simple and affordable way to make something look ✨expensive✨ on a budget. This project cost me less than £50 and here’s how I did it: Step 1 – Find cheap furniture on Facebook Marketplace, I found this pine desk for £20! Step 2 - Remove old handles and fill any holes/gaps with wood filler. Step 3 – Sand to get rid of any varnish/spills/stains/lumps/bumps and then wipe with a damp cloth, removing any dust. Step 4 - Apply one coat of primer - I like to use a water based primer like Dulux’s Trade White Primer. This dries in 2-4 hours. Step 5 - Apply two coats coats of paint for full coverage - I painted this desk in the shade Bivouac – Valspar Interior Metal & Wood Eggshell Paint, Base C. Step 6 – Attach new draw pulls – these vintage-style handles cost less than £5. Have you ever upcycled before? Take this as your sign to try it! Flying with film - how to keep it safe from x-rays! #expiredfilmclub • If you’re worried about travelling with film & it getting ruined by the airport scanners, first of all - don’t fret! I’ve had a lot of experience flying with film in my bags, and I have to say I’ve never experience any sort of noticeable fogging on any film I’ve flown with. However, the higher ISO the film (particularly 800 ISO or over) are more susceptible to getting damaged by the scanners. Just to be safe I use a protective lead-lined bag to put my film in if it has to go through scanners & it’s never failed me yet!
