Replying to @asthmaattacklaugh I actually don’t like this hairstyle on me 🥲🥲🥲 It’s very Pride and Prejudice 1995 and not my favorite style on me! #regencycore #regencyfashion #prideandprejudice #historicalfashion #bridgerton

Atlas Obscura had an article about flirting and I had to do it 😭😭😭 Anyone else think they would totally mess up a secret conversation? The conversation would go terribly wrong 😭😭😭😭 #victorian #victorianfashion #victorianera

A few things to note about this comparison: Starting off with my Marie Antoinette costume. I made this using the historical methods I learned during my Internship at the Millinery Shop in Colonial Williamsburg. HOWEVER, this is specifically based on the costume worn by Kirsten Dunst in the film by Sofia Coppola “Marie Antoinette” (2006). Specifically the scene where she is on the couch having her tootsies rubbed while eating cake and generally living the dream. The movie gown had no sleeves added BUT I tracked down exactly two quick photos of the gown with little gauzy sleeves that were later removed. I made the gown without the sleeves, tried it on, and I FELT WEIRD with my shoulders bare in an 18th century dress 😅😅😅😅 In comparison the Anne Boleyn costume was made by @Samantha Rees and despite having interned for the Tudor Tailor and worked on the second book, I know nothing Jon Snow 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ I can’t tell you much about Tudor Fashion, sorry it’s just not a time period I have alot of experience with. Yes, technically Marie Antoinette would have been dressed by her ladies as well but I do the best with what I have which is just me 🙋🏻‍♀️ #marieantoinette #marieantoinettestyle #18thcenturycostuming #tudorfashion #anneboleyn #cosplay

Replying to @erinmcling No hate to this comment at all because sometimes fashion time periods are hard to tell apart. I just thought it would be easier to demonstrate visually what a century can do for fashion. That said, I do get a lot of comments that correct me on fashion and dates and while I am always constantly learning I (like the majority of most costumers and cosplayers) do actually research before I sew anything. I have a BA in Costume for the Stage and Screen that emphasized research before creation and a hyper-fixation on the Regency in particular. Anyway, I hope this helps ❤️ #bridgerton #historicalcostume #edwardian #victorian #regencyfashion #regencyera #edwardianera #historicalfashion
