“I just can’t build muscle” My genetics are bad. This is not for me. I’m too old. This is too complicated….. Do those thoughts ever cross through your mind? They sure did through mine. And they still do Motivation fluctuates. It’s not always going to be there. You might go through days or even weeks at a time where motivation is down. This is completely normal Fact is though that these are the days and weeks where you will make the most progress. If you can put in the work when you don’t feel like it, you have the ability to rise above the average. You have the ability to build a physique that most people don’t have Motivation doesn’t come on its own. It needs to be triggered. Action ALWAYS comes first. Taking action when you don’t feel like it is the ONLY way to trigger motivation. So how do you do this? One of the most powerful ways to get yourself back on track is to remember your “why” Go deep. Take some time for this. Why did you start your fitness journey to begin with? Were you bullied in the past? Did you get depressed every time you looked in a mirror? Did you leave your shirt on at the beach? Are you feeling embarrassed in public? It could be anything. In my case: I hated what I saw in the mirror. I felt weak. Emasculated. Average. So skinny that I felt like a little boy. People would make fun of it all the time. I had an image in my mind of what a man should be like and I was very far away from it I paint the picture in my mind. Remember what I used to feel like.. And I’ll gladly pick the weights back up I never want to go back there Average is not for me
