Being a content creator full time has taught me a lot. Here’s the top three things: 1. Rejection hurts, but regret hurts even more. When I started creating content, I was afraid of putting myself out there and getting rejected. But I realized that NOT trying at all would be even worse. I try to embrace the possibility of rejection, because it means I’m taking risks and growing as a creator. This lesson applies to life in general tbh– whether it’s trying a new hobby or saying yes to an invitation, it’s better to take a chance and just do it (lame nike reference). 2. Choosing to be satisfied. As someone who’s always been verrrrryyy competitive, I push myself relentlessly to be the best. But I’ve come to realize that there’s a difference between striving for excellence and just being hard on yourself. When I’m laying in bed reflecting on the performance of my accounts and reviewing how much work I did for that day I just choose to be satisfied. While that might sound like a lazy approach, it’s better than the alternative. I must add, this is not me saying watch Netflix all day and then choose to be satisfied. Rather instead of criticizing yourself and comparing yourself to others just be proud and satisfied. Idek if that makes sense but 🤷🏼♂️ 3. Things can change quickly. I use this as a constant reminder to live in the moment and be grateful for the highs and the lows in my journey. When I’m in the lows I try and find the positive because things can change quickly. Alternatively, when I’m in the highs it keeps me grounded and grateful because—yup— things can change quickly. #espresso #espressomartini
