Building codes require electrical outlets on your kitchen island, and the most common place to put them is on the sides. But we didn’t want to cut holes in our waterfall countertops and disrupt the seamless flow. So we hid them on the insides in the millwork. When designing a pool area, it’s a good idea to try and hide the pool equipment. This includes the pump, filter, and heater. After all, it’s not the prettiest stuff to look at. There’s a few different ways to hide it, but we decided to plant a hedge of Skip Laurel shrubs, putting the pool equipment out of sight.
