Since a bit portion of our audience is outside of Thailand we thought we’d shine a light on Songkran. Songkran is a traditional Thai festival that marks the beginning of the Thai New Year. It is celebrated annually from April 13th to 15th and is known as the “Water Festival” due to the tradition of throwing water on friends and family to wash away bad luck and welcome good fortune. This festival is a time for family reunions, temple visits, and paying respects to elders. Join in the fun and celebrate with the locals by experiencing the water fights, street parties, and traditional ceremonies that take place throughout Thailand during Songkran! #songkran #thainewyear #waterfestival #kohchang

11 reasons to visit Stone Town | though there are endless many. We spent a couple of days here so this is what we got up to. HIT SAVE for your trip to Zanzibar. 1. Stay at @sharazadboutiquehotels | Sharazad Oasis Boutique Hotel. 2. Go shopping for endless gems along the hidden streets. 3. Visit Forodhani Park and feed the cats in the evenings. There are about 75 cats here someone mentioned. 4. After that you can enjoy the water jumpers at the jump spot. 5. We stay active wherever we go so we found @houseofmuscleznz | House of Muscle Stone Town Gym. 6. Explore Stone Town by foot with no agenda. It’s super fun. 7. Hire a local guide to take you around the historical sites and give you a guide on history. We used @zanzibarparadise_ and Mansour was awesome. 8. Eat Swahili food at @lukmaan.restaurant | Lukmaan Restaurant Zanzibar. 9. Stone Town has a lot of stray cats sadly so you can either get some cat food and donate to a local charity or you can just donate and get involved by helping with whatever is needed. We paid for this kitten to be treated as he looked poorly. @petsmopolitan_net took the kitten away to be treated so you can make donations to them. 10. Watch the sunset. 11. Visit Secret Garden by @emersonzanzibar for some food or coffee. It’s a beautiful green house that’s super serene. They also host events so come grab dinner and enjoy the night. #stonetownzanzibar #zanzibar #visitzanzibar #travellingfamily

We’ve seen these Makachu jumpers all over our social media for years but had no idea some of the videos were shot here in Zanzibar. So here we are, living our instagram feed with our own eyes 👀 Honestly we could sit here and watch these guys jump for hours. So much energy and fun and laughter. Makachu is considered a sport here amongst the Zanzibaris and it has been done for generations. When to go: daily from 4:30 pm onwards but the energy is at its highest from about 5:30-6:00 pm. That’s when the crowds are gathering and the requests for personalised videos are kicking in so the jumpers are super pumped and ready and rock and roll. 📍Forodhani Jumping Spot | Stone Town P.S. don’t forget to like and subscribe to our YouTube channel which will start featuring our Africa videos starting next week. I wanna fly, can you take me far away? One of those bucket list moments was flying in a hot air balloon over Amboseli in Kenya, while watching the sunrise that painted Mount Kilimanjaro in the most beautiful morning glow ✨ It’s a very special experience and if you have the opportunity to do it, do it. Fly with: Kilimanjaro Balloon Safaris 🗻
