💫 This patient is only postop 3.5 weeks and still has swelling present - but we are excited about her result. An extended deep plane face and necklift was performed. This is a highly technical procedure that allows the retaining ligaments of the face to be released so your cheeks, jowls, neck can be lifted and secured into its prior youthful state with no tension. This is important because this lack of tension creates a nearly invisible scar in front of the ear and also avoids a “pulled” appearance. Another component important for her was the neck. This will continue to improve because we sculpted the deep components that were causing fullness including the submandibular salivary gland and digastric muscle. These components add bulk and are not affected by weight loss. An upper lip lift was performed because the patient noticed that her upper lip had lengthened and that she was showing less red lip. A lateral browlift was performed because she noticed the tail of her brow had descended. I often combine a form of browlifting with my faces in order to allow a more vertical lift (which is how we age) vs. pulling horizontally (this can lead to an unnatural appearance). This combination leads to a pleasing and harmonious appearance and we are so happy for this lovely patient who so graciously allowed me to share her progress.
