It’s the little things that can make walks more enjoyable. Sitting in front of you isn’t necessarily a bad thing, some would be happy just to have their dogs sit when told. The solution to reactivity in dogs in multi layered. While there are small details that may change, one resounding aspect to the solution is setting clear rules and boundaries and developing the habit of having your dog listen to you. 💯 Without consistency in looking to you and taking direction from, there’s no trust that YOU have things under control. Imagine a person you don’t respect and never take advice from, telling you “everything is gonna be okay”. Would that mean anything to you?? Probably not. Now imagine a person you respect and look up to telling you the same thing. Their words would likely comfort you and you’d believe them. That’s why having the type of relationship with your dog where YOU ARE that respected person who holds authority is so important and absolutely necessary. #dogobedience #reactivedog #dogpsychology

Dogs do this too. Its a ritualistic behavior and usually a submissive gesture from the dog doing the licking. But you don’t need to let your dog tongue kiss you to have a healthy relationship. While I do think it’s important to communicate with dogs on their level, as much as possible - I’ll pass on brushing my teeth with their tongue. 🤢 0/10 would not recommend. #wolves #dogs #dogbehavior #dogbehaviour #dogpsychology
