to the man that taught me how to code from day 1 🫶🏽🥲! During my undergraduate degree in Physics with Medical Physics and Bioengineering I had a coding in MATLAB module that I didn’t understand at all 🫠 I actually used to really dislike coding - simply cause i had no idea what was going on!! Thanks to this man’s YouTube channel I genuinely got a 1:1 in my coding module 🫡 .. The one and only time I asked a question in my undergraduate coding module… never again! 😂🙋🏽‍♀️ .. mean it’s either yes or no!! Lol Honestly this made me rather search for hours online (YouTube >> ) for the answer to my question than to ask another question in class (not ideal I know) 🥲🙌🏽 I mentioned on here a few times but to those of you who are new to my page, I have almost completed a fully computational PhD in cancer research and the interesting thing is I taught myself 90% of everything coding related DURING my PhD. ✨ I genuinely knew 10% of all things coding before I started my PhD. POV: 24 hours before & after becoming Dr. 😫🥳 I wanted to go somewhere after my viva no matter how it went 👍🏽 or 👎🏽 lol - so we booked a veryyy last minute trip to London for the rest of the week. Nearly missed the flight cause I didn’t expect my viva to be as long as it was (3.5 hours) but thankfully the flight got delayed 🥳 London was short but sweet and so nice to forget about the pressure of my PhD / viva for a while! Despite passing work still needs to be done - minor thesis changes, adding some more info, getting the changes approved & finally binding the thesis! Dr. Annabelle Nwaokorie 🥹❤️ .. I did it !!! 3.9 years, 45k word thesis, 2 first author publications in Q1 journals, and a 3.5 hour viva … & you can now call me Dr!!! 😭 It DEFINITELY hasn’t hit me yet, the viva was just so intense and ngl longer then expected but I guess the questions and conversations were out of interest and curiosity, so I’m very happy👩🏽‍💻🧬🎉 It doesn’t feel real to be done!! I feel like I have so much more to say which I will dive deep into in the next few days.. yesterday I collected my PhD thesis!!! …🥹🎉 ✅ Thesis Title: “Constructing Mathematical Models That Predict Therapy Responses in Colorectal Cancer” This isn’t the official binding of my thesis but since my viva is VERY CLOSE I wanted a soft copy for all things viva prep: to read, highlight and take notes! 📌📎 Then after my viva I’ll print the official thesis, get it hardback bound and hand it to my uni library! In total there’s around 47k words and 238 pages [thiccc 😂💀] On a serious note lol seeing nearly 4 years of your work in front of you is another level of accomplishment!! 😭 ..almost at the finish line.. next step: PhD viva (..then it’s Dr Nwaokorie🤞🏽🫠) #phdone #phdsubmitted #phdlife #phd #phdstudent #codinglife
