Replying to @jbertolinoRE Networking in college with rich kids in your classes is the key to getting referrals for tech jobs, banking jobs, consulting, and a bunch of other industries. I graduated from UW Seattle and made more money than most UC Berkeley Computer Science majors because I had a ton of referrals to top tech companies. Grinding for a 4.0 GPA is a bad strategy — build a good resume, and then make friends and get referred so real people will see it.

#stitch with @ouckah Computer Science job and internship interviews usually start in the fall, from September to December. However, the full-on interviewing process doesn't really pick up until October. This is because companies take some time at the beginning to set up their interview processes, review applications, and decide which candidates they want to talk to. Even though it's September, things are still getting organized behind the scenes. Interestingly though, even interns from top companies like Google are facing more competition for interviews now. This means that even though those big-name companies used to be easier to get interviews with, things have changed a bit. So, if you're looking for a computer science job or internship, it's important not to worry too much – the process is just starting and everyone is adjusting to the new situation. #comsci #csmajors #computersciencemajor #techinternship
