Stephanie Smith came home after the August long weekend and discovered mushrooms growing inside her Ottawa home, a townhouse in Quarry Co-operative Housing. She says it’s the result of unrepaired leaks that she's been asking the board to fix for years. In a countersuit, Quarry Co-op denies all allegations of negligence. CBC News spoke to Smith’s co-op neighbours. They say they’ve also been waiting for the board to arrange major and minor maintenance requests — from electrical and heating issues to bad plumbing, broken doors and windows and holes in the roof. Now, other co-op members are co-leading a movement to disband the current board. Reporting: Priscilla Ki Sun Hwang/CBC | #Housing #Mould #Repair
