These Bulgarian meat and cheese sandwiches are the ultimate meaty and cheesy comfort food. You can find many versions of these baked sandwiches on every corner in Bulgaria. These sandwiches are called “Prinzesi” in my language which translates to princesses. These grilled Bulgarian ground meat and cheese sandwiches are part of my most nostalgic memories. If you ever find yourself in Bulgaria, be sure to look out for these on almost every corner. We have many different kinds including baked ham and cheese sandwiches, egg-feta-cheese toast sandwiches, just cheese, and various versions.
