New Rescue Alert! Another friendly cat was dumped at one of our colonies. This is the same colony that Marvel was dumped at with his bed. We don't know if these beautiful boys are related, or if our colony has just become a popular dumping ground for friendly cats. We named this newest boy DC. DC went to the vet and was neutered, vaccinated, and checked for a microchip (no chip found). He was SNAP tested and came back Negative for FIV and FeLV 🤗 DC is very loving, affectionate, and outgoing. He will make the perfect addition to any family. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application. Link in bio @catsofsanbernardino #savinglives #cats #kitten #catsoftiktok #taylorswift #tnrsaveslives

We were out doing TNR yesterday when we came across a sick kitten. We could tell from a distance that she had a problem with her right eye and was having trouble breathing. We initially tried to trap her with the net, but she was scared and able to maneuver around it... luckily we already had the drop trap setup. We stopped her from exiting the area and got her to move toward the trap. After a couple of minutes, she went inside. We named her Bowser. Bowser is currently at the vet getting a full assessment and treatment. Please consider donating to her vet bills and care by visiting the link in our bio @catsofsanbernardino #savinglives #catrescue #rescuedkittens #cat #kittenrescue

Thalia ASMR. Not much new with our beautiful girl. She has learned the love of squeeze treats though 😋 Her eyes are still doing well and she is continuing to heal emotionally. We will be scheduling the removal of her last BB pellet soon ...after she has a bit more time to destress from all the procedures she's already had. We will continue to keep everyone posted on progress ❤️ #catlife #catlove #kittensoftiktok #catrescue

Some inspiration for your Saturday 🤗 Here is a montage of the release days of some of our TNR Cats.  TNR is still very misunderstood and we hope that our videos can help shed some light on the process.  We first want to let everyone know that all of the cats that we TNR have designated caretakers. Meaning someone is providing them with food and water and will contact us if they have future health concerns.  We live in a very urban area. We know a lot of people think that these feral cats are endangering birds. That is not an accurate assessment of San Bernardino. First, these cats have food and are not needing to hunt. Secondly, this is an extremely urban environment, we don't have endangered birds and if we did, it would be the humans moving into their environment that was a danger to them.  Socializing all feral cats is not an attainable solution! Socializing one feral takes months and in that time countless other friendly adoptable cats can be rescued.  Euthanasia as suggested by many cat haters is also not a solution. Removing feral cats from an area creates what is called the vacuum effect. If cats are thriving in the area removing the current population means that they will be replaced by new cats. These new cats will fight for territory and begin procreation again and again in an endless cycle. The best solution for controlling the population is having a fixed healthy population. The numbers will remain stable and the territory will remain controlled by the current population.  Our goal is to spay and neuter 28 cats a month. That is 336 cats a year. Each of those 336 cats would help produce on average 12 kittens a year, that is 4032 kittens that will be prevented from being born on the streets just this year.  Please consider joining our efforts by becoming a monthly donor. Adoptions days are the best days ❤️ We had some great adoptions this week. Some kitties traveled far and others who have been with us for years finally got their happily ever afters. Mr. Big got adopted and his Mom made the trip from Texas to take him home this weekend 🤗 Officially making the saying true ..everything really is bigger in Texas. Mr. Big got his very own Instagram. You can follow his journey: @mrbigagent Cyclops our one eyed boy got to finally go to his forever home. He has been adopted for months but needed to get his surgery and recover first. You can follow his new adventures too: @_one.eye.eli_ Scarlett the longest resident at Cats of San Bernardino finally found her perfect family! She was with us 2 years to the day that she went home. Our first kittens of the year that we rescued, Wednesday and Pugsley, both went to their new homes ❤️ And last but not least, beautiful Vicente found his perfect match ❤️ We have the absolute best adopters in the world and for that we are grateful! #cat #kitten #rescuedcat #rescuedkittens #catsoftiktok
