Had the honour of joining Kuan Zhai Alley on a “culture trip” to the Southwest of China, famous for its extremely spicy food and giant pandas! This is a newly opened modern Sichuan restaurant that provides an authentic experience right in the heart of Raffles Place. Decided to visit Nimmies Pastry Cafe which was close to our hotel and had very high ratings on Google (4.6 stars with 1k+ reviews). The croissant tho pricey was definitely comparable to those I’ve had in Australia! Unintentionally ordered their latest croissant flavour - the biscoff cream, which I think is really worth a try, though if I ever return I would love to try the matcha red bean or chilli crab. I like that despite the long queues, once you get into the cafe the interior is kept tranquil and the pace felt relaxed as the wait staff don’t rush you through your meals. I also enjoyed my hojicha and I think the carbonara is decent but not mind blowing.
